2026 Bible Competition

Regular readers know that Tumaini Evangelistic Pre & Primary School prides itself on holding academic and sports competitions over the school year to keep our students engaged. A couple of years ago we added the Bible Competition to the list. This year the Bible competiton was held while we had Doug and Frank visiting from the USA. For those of you who don’t know, Doug and Frank are the ones who got the ball rolling on the school through Blessed2BlessU Ministries, Inc. The kids were excited to show off in front of them in the competition.

Frank and Doug as the students held worship before the competition through song and prayer. (Doug is the one holding Brilliant)

“G” looks sorry he cannot compete as he is too young He is one of the child of a staff member and not yet enrolled in our preschool

The first video is of the kids singing before the competition.

The first competition is a common type game they like to play. Normally you use colors or numbers and each side of a line represents a different one and you jump to that side when you hear it called out. As part of the Bible competition it starts by calling New or Old Testament and the students jump to the side designated as the Old or New Testament. After they get going they will change it up and call out a story or a chapter and you have to jump to the side of the Bible that includes it. For example if you called Noah they would jump to the Old Testament side or if you called Matthew they would jump to the New Testament side. This works great until they called Jacob and the teacher called everyone who jumped to the Old Testament Side out, and we have to explain to her that Jacob is an Old Testament character. As always they (Tanzanians) don’t believe you and assume they are write until you provide proof to them. The video clip is just the kids not all the adult stuff.

apparently someone told the “old testament” placard holder he had to look stern and he did a great job.

New Testament placard holder was told she could smile I guess.

Jumping from side to side. What I noticed is the people in the back mainly follow the lead of the person in the front as you can tell by the fact he finished his jump while everyone else is just starting their jump.

The next competition was chapter look up, but before they can look up the chapter they have to put their hands on the markers on the table where a circle is a fist and the drawn hand you lay your hand flat. Before you ask, I have no idea what that has to do with looking up chapters in the Bible.

Princess vs Zoe (Class 4 vs Class 6)

Kindness vs Zoe (Class 6 vs Class 6) and yes that is the Kindness I used to talk about who you could not wake up if she fell asleep as a Middle Preschool student.

The next competition was to name a chapter in the Bible based of a picture. in this one Joshua correctly identified the chapter as Judges.

In this one Dalnim correctly identified the chapter associated with a picture of a lion as Daniel.

Zoe actually won three categories
Agape was our youngest winner (Class 2)
Mgisha won twice and smiled once
Wilson was a winner
Josephine was a winner
