One of the things that sets our school apart is that we encourage our students to learn via different mediums. One of those mediums is the study tour day (field trip in the USA). Unlike most field trips to the zoo or museum our students have the ability to visit National Parks with wild animals in their natural habitat. So in early August, Tumaini Evangelistic Pre & Primary School got on their buses and left Kiruani village in to travel to Mkomazi National Park, home of the Black Rhino. Unfortunately they did not get any video or pictures of the Black Rhino which has remained the most elusive for me to capture on film (well actually on a flash card as digital information that can be displayed as a picture)..

They take students from grade 3 up to grade 7 on the tour each year to a different learning center or park. They get educational talks from Park staff/rangers, normally visit some exhibits and then off to drive through the park and see the animals. It is also a day where the girls at least get a little dressed up doing something with their hair while boys are just boys the world over and just wear their school track suit.
