Standard 4 Testing-Prayer Request

Hello, sorry I have not prepared more blog updates recently. I have several almost complete. But this topic has a timeline so I am putting it in front of completing the other blogs. This year’s standard 4 class is about to do their National Exams on October 26 and 27, 2022. That is next Wednesday and Thursday. Last year I sent out a request for prayer over our students taking the test. I am here to ask again that you prayer over our students this year.

Baraka E. is the son of our PTA president (not actually PTA but close enough). He is a good student normally placing in the top three. He is strong in math and normally does well during our mathematics competition.

Baraka P. is also a good student normally placing in the top half of the class. He is a local student and gets along well with everyone on site. His strength is also math and does well in our Mathematics competition. His weakness is Science.

Daniel lives with our School director after his family relocated from the area. Daniel struggles with Math and Science and his strength is English class. The smile in the photo is natural for him.

Clara is a sweetheart who takes really good pictures for all her accolades. She has been top student in her class for most of this year. She has won the mathematics competition for the last two years. All of her subjects seem to be her strength except Science (to be fair to all those who are getting dinged on Science it is a new subject for them).

Dorice is one of our identical twins. It is impossible for me to tell the difference between the two of them. Dorice used to struggle with her grades while her twin did very well. This year they switched for a while but now both are doing well. Dorice is stongest in English and Civics. Her weakness is Science.

As I mentioned on her twin’s about section Dorine struggled a bit at the beginning of the year but has picked it up and is finishing strong. Her strength is English and Science. Her weakness is Social Studies.

Happy has been living up to her name this year. Always running and smiling and laughing. Her strengths are Social Studies and Kiswahili. Her weakness is very much Science and English.

James is strongest in Civics and Kiswahili. His weakness include Science, English and Math.

Josephat has the distinction of being the smallest kid in the upper classes and that means he is always chosen to play Zacchaeus in bible plays. He takes it in stride realizing there is nothing he can do about his height. Josephat’s strength is Social Studies and his weakness is Science and Math.

Let’s be honest for a moment. Lazaro stuggles in school and really needs your prayers in getting ready for the testing. We actually tried to hold him back a grade but the local government controls those issues and said no. He would be so much better prepared if we held him back. He was showing signs of improvement when we did. Lazaro is not really strong in any subject but he is especially weak in Science and English.

Mery has improved significantly over the last two years with her test scores. She is especially strong in English, Civics and Social Studies. She needs help in Math and Science. Her mom is a teacher at the local government school so we hope she gets some extra prep time. She could be an A student on the exam if she puts the work in.

Nice was the top dog the last three years, but this year she is typically third to Clara and Baraka E. Her strengths are Math, English and Science. Her weakness may be her Social Studies and Civics classes. She is a joy to hang out with and her English is better than some teachers.

Noel is a happy local boy as you can tell from his photo. Academically he struggles and would have been held back if we had the choice. He is strongest in Kiswahili and the rest needs some work and a lot of prayers.

Philimon is one of taller students. He is a good kid overall but academically he struggles. He really does not have an academic strength so he could use prayer for all of his subjects.

Samwel has done better this year academically speaking. He has always been a great kid and joy to be around. The picture grabbed some of his personality. His strength is Civics and Kiswahili. His weakness is Science, Math and Social Studies.

Stephano is right there with Lazaro needing help in all of his subjects. Like most of the local boys, by the time the bring the family herd back home after school it is too dark for them to study so they rarely get their homework done and that has an affect.

Stewart is another student who has improved over the last year. He is commonly a top 5 student in his class. His strengths are Civics, Social Studies, Kiswahili. His weakness include Math and Science.

Please consider praying for one or all of our students. You have their names, images, strength and weakness so if you see one you feel called to pray for then go for it. If not play for the class as a whole and their teacher Isack. Thank you in advance. Just so you know I probably will not know how they do until January but I will post it.
