At Tumaini Evangelistic Pre & Primary School in Kiruani, every child is on a journey—a journey of discovery, learning, and growth. Today I am writing about those students who have excelled during the first exam of the 2nd Term and after their long break during June.
🌱 Baby Class – The First Steps

In the Baby Class, the smallest voices are already making the biggest statements. Wema Jackson led the way with curiosity and determination, followed closely by Helen Israeli, who showed quiet strength, and Najma Mustafa, whose steady progress inspires her classmates. Their journey reminds us that greatness begins with small steps.
🌿 Middle Preschool – Blossoming Minds

Here, imagination blooms. Eunice Yona captured the top spot with her eager spirit, while Elisha Musa and Meshack Rabbsion proved that even at this young age, focus and effort pave the way to success. These young learners are building the foundation of lifelong achievement.
🌟 Pre-Unity Preschool – Ready for the Climb

Our Pre-Unity stars showed us what it means to dream big. Enock Tipai shone brightly in 1st place, with Regina Andrea and Miriam Samweli close behind. Their energy and enthusiasm tell us they are ready for the challenges ahead.
📚 Standard 1 – New Journeys Begin

Taking their first big leap into primary school, Whitness Thomas rose to the top with determination. Judith Israel and Lilian Tete followed, showing that even the newest scholars can set goals and achieve them.
✨ Standard 2 – Building Confidence

Confidence is growing, and so are their dreams. Deborah Samweli led the class, proving that persistence pays off. Abigael Himadu and Doroth Merinyo showed the power of teamwork and steady effort.
🌈 Standard 3 – Creativity Shines

With curious minds and eager hearts, Standard 3 students continue to amaze. Dalnim Furaha stood tall in 1st place, while Abigaeli Rabielu and Joyce Pius showed that every challenge is an opportunity to shine.
🌄 Standard 4 – Leaders in the Making

As they prepare to take on greater responsibilities, Marry Moleli led the way, with Clinton Mmary and Julieth Ngowi showing us the promise of true leaders in the making.
🌍 Standard 5 – Reaching Higher

The determination in Standard 5 is inspiring. Musa Daniely took the lead, while Alex Patmo and Zoe Elisante proved that excellence is within reach when one keeps striving.
🔑 Standard 6 – The Final Stretch Before Greatness

With only one year before their national exams, our Standard 6 students are pushing harder than ever. Jackson Kimaro set the pace, with Getruda Khaya and Isaya Mwaraba following close behind. Their dedication shows that they are ready to carry the Tumaini torch forward.
🏆 Standard 7 – Competing Beyond Our Walls

Our Standard 7 students faced a great challenge: a district-wide practice exam with 28 schools. We are proud to share that Tumaini ranked 10th overall—a sign that we are climbing higher every day. Among our own students, Baraka Enoch placed 1st, Nice Leonard 2nd, and Baraka Petro 3rd. Their achievement proves that Tumaini students can stand tall among the best.
🌸 A Legacy of Leadership – Especially Among Girls
I realize that most people have difficulty telling who the girls are with all the shaved heads and uniforms. But if you did not notice, I would like to point out that 2/3rds of our top students are young ladies. In a culture where girls have not been encouraged to go to school, I think this stands out against all the misogynist tribe beliefs that woman are not smart enough to be leaders. They are obviously as smart if not smarter than most of the boys.
Each name on this list represents more than just a position—it represents hours of practice, moments of courage, and the will to keep going even when it’s hard. To our students: whether you stood in 1st place or quietly worked hard behind the scenes, you are all champions.
The story of Tumaini is one of hope, growth, and faith in what is possible. Together, we will keep climbing, keep dreaming, and keep shining.
Congratulations, Tumaini family—our future is bright because of you.
