I want to thank everyone who contributed to the sewing ministry we are trying to start up in Kikatiti. We have raised over $3500 and been able to get 5 sewing machines and help set up a building for them to keep all the ministry materials.
The building could still use some work, but the main components like walls, floor, roof, windows and doors are all installed. We have even been able to start plastering the walls and paint one of the rooms.

We also have updates on the flood recovery. The water has receded from the crop lands and they have planted crops throughout the area. Some water remains nearby, which is great for pumping water over to the crops. They are working on the section of the road that was hit the hardest. Currently it looks like they are going to be adding three or four more large water drainage bridges to the area.
The bridge that was washed away though seems to be low on the list to replace as no work has gone on there. The detour is starting to look pretty bad and is mostly a foot or so deep in fine dust.
This weekend I went to Mwika Integrity and participated in their graduation ceremony for Standard 7 even though the national exams to determine if they can move up to Secondary school are not until the second week of September 11. Tumaini Evangelistic Pre & Primary will be holding our Standard 7 graduation on August 30.
I will do a full blog on the graduation ceremonies but one interesting thing we did at the beginning of the day was plant fruit trees. Here is me planting my tree.

I was also recently invited to a dinner birthday party for one of our teachers at her house.
